The National Association of Professional Celebrants

Events and Financial Membership:                                                                                                                            Valid February 2016

In order to qualify for heavily discounted member fees events as offered, celebrants must be financial members of the AFCC at  the time they register and pay for attendance at AFCC-hosted events, including, but not limited to, face-to-face OPD events and annual conferences.

Celebrants must also be financial members of the AFCC at the time the AFCC-hosted events for which they have registered and paid are held or conducted, regardless of when such events are scheduled.

Where financial members have registered for and paid to attend AFCC-hosted events that are scheduled to be held in the ensuing membership year (after 30th June of each year) or beyond and have not renewed their annual membership for that following year, they will not be entitled to attend the event(s) unless they either renew their annual membership or pay the difference between the member rate and the non-member rate before the event date.

This policy statement should be read in conjunction with the AFCC Refund Policy (below).

Refunds for AFCC-hosted events:                                                                                                                                     Valid  May 2014

There is almost no flexibility or margin in the pricing structure of any AFCC-hosted event, for which members register and pay,    to accommodate a refund.

To ensure the most beneficial prices for events are available to members, payments and payment commitments are negotiated and made by the AFCC well in advance of each event to cover the costs of presenters, venues and catering (as appropriate). Payments and commitments are made by the AFCC in good faith, according to the number of confirmed member registrations  and payments.

That said, any request for a refund for non-attendance at any AFCC event must be made in writing. Based on the circumstances   of the individual member, a discretionary refund of 100% may be made if requested at least 30 days out from the date of the event. A refund of 50% may be made if requested at least 14 days out from the date of the event.

Except at the absolute discretion of the AFCC Executive, no refund is available for requests made less than 14 days out from the date of the event for which the member has registered and paid and no refund is available where such requests are made after the event.
